Your summer body routine
1. Exfoliate
Exfoliating your body is an essential step for renewing your skin and giving it a healthy glow. Exfoliate once or twice a week, avoiding doing so right before sun exposure, and opt for natural exfoliants with gentle grains that gently remove dead skin cells.
Apply the product (to damp or dry skin—as indicated on the packaging) using upward circular motions, starting from your ankles and working your way up toward your upper body. After rinsing with lukewarm water, gently pat your skin dry with a towel to avoid irritation.
Another option: a massage brush for dry use—no water or product needed! Brush each area for 30 seconds using slow, firm strokes, moving from the extremities (feet, hands) toward the heart. It exfoliates and tones at the same time!
2. I protect myself
Protecting your skin from UV rays is essential for maintaining its radiance (and protecting yourself from the sun’s harmful effects in general!). Apply sunscreen suited to your skin type as soon as you go outside, starting in the spring. Opt for high SPF levels (SPF 30 or 50) for effective protection, especially when you first start spending time in the sun.
Reapply every two hours and after swimming, without forgetting sensitive areas like the décolletage, ears, or the tops of your feet—which are often overlooked!
Bonus tip: Wear a hat or cap to protect your face. Use sunglasses that block UVA and UVB rays. And of course, avoid prolonged sun exposure during the hottest hours of the day (11 a.m.–4 p.m.).
After the beach, simply rinsing your skin isn’t enough—you need to cleanse it with a cleanser, such as shower gel, to completely remove all traces of sunscreen.
3. I enhance my skin
Intensively nourishing your skin is the key step to giving it a satiny appearance and a luminous finish. Apply a dry oil after your shower, and opt for lightweight formulas that absorb quickly without leaving a greasy film.
Massage the product in, focusing on areas that catch the light—such as your collarbones and legs—to create flattering highlights. It looks even prettier with a shimmery oil! After applying, wait a few minutes before getting dressed to avoid transferring the product onto your clothes.
4. Extending Your Tan
Maintaining your tan is the final step to keeping your golden glow for as long as possible.
Keep moisturizing your body morning and night, because dry skin tends to peel and lose its beautiful color prematurely.
Bonus tip: After summer, combine this routine with a diet rich in beta-carotene to boost your glow from the inside out. Bring on the carrot juice!
5. What if I’m going on a trip...
First of all, opt for solid products to avoid any unfortunate leaks in your suitcase:
Next, opt for clever accessories:
-
The refillable bottle: say goodbye to disposable travel-size bottles. Transfer your favorite shampoos, body lotions, or oils into reusable containers. It’s economical and eco-friendly.
-
The box, soap pouch, or soap dish: must-have essentials for solid product enthusiasts. They protect your soap or shampoo, let them dry properly, and keep them from getting all over your belongings.
-
Pouches and toiletry bags: essential for organizing and storing your products. Small or large—it’s up to you!
