Your summer face routine
1. I cleanse and purify
Clearing your face of impurities is a crucial step in maintaining a fresh, radiant complexion. Cleanse your skin morning and night, and opt for gentle, certified organic cleansing gels or foams to avoid stripping your skin’s barrier. This step is also essential after sun exposure to remove sunscreen from your skin.
Gently massage with your fingertips using circular motions, paying special attention to the T-zone (forehead, nose, and chin). After rinsing with cool water, pat dry with a clean towel without rubbing.
2. Protect Yourself
Protecting yourself from UV rays is an essential step in preventing premature aging and skin spots. Apply an SPF 30 or 50 facial sunscreen every morning, and opt for certified organic products with mineral filters.
Apply an amount equivalent to two fingers’ worth of product to your entire face, neck, and the tops of your ears before applying makeup. Reapply every two hours during prolonged sun exposure to maintain optimal protection.
Bonus tip: Wear a hat or cap to protect your face. Use sunglasses that block UVA and UVB rays. And of course, avoid prolonged sun exposure during the hottest hours of the day (11 a.m.–4 p.m.).
After a day at the beach, simply rinsing your skin isn’t enough; it’s recommended that you double-cleanse: first, remove your makeup (even if you aren’t wearing any, sunscreen is particularly stubborn), then cleanse your face with a cleanser such as a gel or foam.
3. Enhance & prolong your glow
Soothing your skin after a day in the sun is the final step to lock in your beautiful glow and prevent peeling. You can apply an after-sun lotion or aloe vera. In any case, opt for lightweight, hydrating formulas to help soothe any burning sensation without weighing down your skin.
In the evening, apply a generous layer of skincare to let your skin soak up the active ingredients while you sleep. When you wake up, your complexion will be fresh and your skin plump.
5. What if I’m going on a trip...
First of all, opt for solid products to avoid any unfortunate leaks in your suitcase:
Next, opt for clever accessories:
-
The refillable bottle: say goodbye to disposable travel-size bottles. Transfer your favorite shampoos, body lotions, or oils into reusable containers. It’s economical and eco-friendly.
-
The box, soap pouch, or soap dish: must-have essentials for solid product enthusiasts. They protect your soap or shampoo, let them dry properly, and keep them from getting all over your belongings.
-
Pouches and toiletry bags: essential for organizing and storing your products. Small or large—it’s up to you!
